Renewals are ALLWAYS more whatever company your with.
Ring round and they will beat it.
They are all in it to make money or they wouldnt be around and in bussiness
Yeah the thing is last yeah I had to go TPFT as I couldn't afford the full comp, and the renewal for TPFT was more expensive than Adrian Flux full comp, so I'm going with them,,,, Doubt HIC will match that some how!Originally Posted by lee may

I was with HIC for 3 years as they where the only ones who would insure my 16v GTE for sensible money, seemed to average £400 for TPFT each year.
BUT once I hit the big 30 they majors started to talk sensible money and I got the astra insured with AXA for £380 full comp (5 year NCD) HIC still want £430 for TPFT!
These days I have my Turbo Coupe (Opel!) insured with Direct Line for £500 fully comp(full discount 33yrs old 0 points).
The moral? check, recheck and double recheck every year as one little change in your circumstance (or age!!) can suddenly make you more accetable to the big boys ,obviously if your running a highly modded car your proberly going to be stuck with the specialists
i pay 1750 fully comp with pass plus on my cav 2.0 16v im 19 but got the insurance at 18
i have since claimed so i will be looking at the wrong side of 3 grand next year
but i highly recomend pass plus cost me 60 quid and saved me thousands literally

This is madness. So what does a 20 year old with a Mk2 GTE 16v pay, fully comp, with 3 years NCB?
OK so I'm nearly 30 now, but when I had mine (when I was 20) it was, from memory, £582.00, only went up slightly with the courtenay cams and stuff.
My Nova 1.3SR @ 17 was £342.00 fully comp with no NCB as a first car. It wasn't even £400 with the twin 40's on when I was 18.
Has the world gone totally mad and why are you people paying such stupid amounts?
I admit my cars were garaged which makes a difference.
Jasovanooo: how much is the cav worth? Spec/age etc? Must be very new (and worth a lot) to be worth paying £1750 AND making a claim on.
i was with adrian flux and they quoted me 1400 for tft thats for a 26yr with 4 yrs no claims on a group 20 rx7 type r. did some phoning around found this company called insurance factory and they quoted me 1150 fully comp!! when i was 21 i had the astra and was payin nearly 2.5k on it,that was adrian flux too. it was my first car though and didnt have any ncd

Does anyone know if they cover cars with nitrous fitted?
Adrian Flux is our main insurer but it's always good to know a few more.

HIC are the way forward !!! i had a camper they were great, i had a cav gsi, they were very cheap. i had a standard ford escort and they screwed me over. I got a cav turbo and it is cheaper then my cav gsi cool hu.
the only bad thing about them is the 18minute calls but ring them after 7pm and you will get the best quotes..

I think he was saying call them after 7pm and you'll get a shorter call. But if you call them you'll get better quotes (than elsewhere).Originally Posted by jav786

I've used HIC for 4yrs with various motors & always got good deals. £210:00 TPFT at the moment on my 16V GTE.
AAAAAAAAAAARRRGGHH.....WHAT A RUSH!!!!
might give them a try when my insurance is up for renewal (nov). it's a bit hard getting quotes on a cav v6 when under 21 cus it's over 2.0l.
if you're reading this and haven't passed your test yet, i'd advice to do pass plus, cost me £100. some firms only took £50-80 off but norwich union took £1000 off![]()
Just had my renual quote from HIC and it was £876 full comp on my 1992 calibra turbo.Got a quote from performance direct £532 fully compI only used HIC for my Renault 5 turbo as i wanted an agreed value, and as i have taken it off the road to strip it down to a bare shell and re build it i wasnt willing to pay the quote. When i switched my pollicy over from the renault to the calibra it cost me £80+admistration.

I found HIC to be V good. Fiat Punto (easy now, only driving it cos its cheap to run while I do up my MK2 Astra!) 1.7 Turbo Diesel, Full com, business Insurance, drive any car. £24 a month. Admittedly, I'm 30 with 5ncd, but I think its good. Only downside is you spend ages waiting to get through to them. Still reccommended.
Can anyone help??? i need a company that ask for point only for the last 3 years rather than 5 yearsanyone know of any???
Greenlight are 3 years not 5 years
