    Re: MIGWeb Announcement

Well, I was asking about the money so fair enough...although I realise I wont get details, and have no need really to find out..

My questions seem to be winding people up, so I wont bother looking for answers...I'm just disappointed ...

I'm surprised it means that much to you, with only 1000 posts in 9 years? I might be naive in thinking i've not met you at any shows, and your not a co-ord, but are a paying member, i wonder for how many years.

I'm just intrigued that's all as i've seen none of your posts or contributions, and it seems you feel quite strongly.

Thanks for the words guys. I am glad that my responses helped make you all feel more comfortable now. Like I said, I don't plan on changing anything, and any changes I will ask thoughts from the community and moderators.

And no, I am not American haha.

Rich, Coo or M4dCoo* has been a paid up member for years iirc.

    Coo,
I'm sure Mike will reply in this thread, if he thinks it right to. He might want to keep those kinda details to just him self and Steve. I don't know.
    What are you disappointed in?

*sorry if that isn't spelt right.

If the adverts are present more for non members, and Steve gets paid for the adverts, then does that not mean that its in Steves interest for as few people as possible to be members of the club to increase his ad revenue? lmao

Are you European then? Not a Brit.

    Will Mike build/buy another GTE?

    Hey Mr Admin,

When you get a moment can you tweak the server settings so that the shortened Youtube prefix & domain name - YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. - is recognised by the 'Insert Video' script.

I don't plan on changing anything
Why not? Take the opportunity to revitalise and refresh the site.
Regime change being somewhat topical at the moment.

because he refered to cars as quote "auto's" and "auto indusudtry" which is an american colloquialism. i guess it might be an issue if it was a foreign country as it dissassociates the site from the people providing the content

Lol, for my interests - Calibra/ LET tuning & touring - most of the worthwhile Mig site content , not surprisingly, is provided by people based outside the UK. Indeed, it's one of the mig website's key selling points

I'd disagree. The most important / influential members in my opinion are all UK based

TFS - Last of the real "hands-on" Calibra tuning guys, spec'd, built and raced a Calibra himself. Was never afraid to experiment and push the boundaries, and as a result held the UK record for fastest Calibra (and C20LET?) for a while. The guy is a legend, total opposite of the chequebook modifiers you get these days.

MSG - Awesome Calibra and Manta. Smartest guy on the site by a mile, regularly makes other people look silly. Proper bloke!

I'll agree with you on Qrew though

You are disagreeing with something I didn't say. However, your next comments, perhaps unwittingly, underline the point I actually made!

Mind you I think you are doing TFS a bit of an injustice, I vaguely recall a thread where he totalled his spend at something like £25,000. A tidy sum now let alone 2004 or whatever. What is a cheque book modifier anyway? Someone who pays rather than steals? Or someone who buys another's completed car? I think you'll find most bods with a highly modified Calibra do it, like myself, over a period of time using trial & error, personal preference & gained knowledge picked up along the way.

Of course, we are now going more than a tad off topic, may I suggest starting a thread in the relevant section if you want to expand on any aspects of high end Calibra tuning such as experiments made, boundaries pushed, end results, reliability, speed & power attained etc.

Any changes that I would make, would be with group agreement. What I meant, is that I do not plan on changing anything, unless the forum agrees they could see some improvement. You all can suggest as you please and all suggestions will be taken into consideration.
Could you please PM me about the YouTube thing. I didn't quite follow you there :S

I understand what you mean. I frequent many sites and many forums, a lot of which are American, so things have a tendency to rub off on me lol.

someone who goes on internet forums asking for advice, gets 3 pages of answers, ignores it, spends thouands on top spec parts because stuff that costs the most is the best. most common phrases "i'll see what my mechanic says" or "i'll get my mechanic to whip the head off" or "my cars down at megadeathkill motorsport having a £19,000 motorsport flywheel spiggot bearing fitted by the top fella steve"

I have nothing constructive to add, however all this talk of "Steve, Steve... Steve... Steve..." and well...

YouTube - Walk On The Wild Side - Alan

If only "Alan" was "Mike" but it's not unless some of you computer experts fancy doing a little editing.
Cavalier Turbo Owners Club - As long as it runs I really dont care...
