I second this, the first time i saw the grey stripes on the black my eyes went , takes some focusing to get used to looking at it.

i think the rich blue colour should definitely be knocked back a bit; it has the same impact/contrast as the dark grey and is fighting for attention on screen. this seems to be the main reason the site now looks so 'busy' but by changing this one element would result in a drastic improvement on the eye without needing to affect the other new elements.

I quite like it apart from the blue title bar above every post. Colour is probably ok, just too deep.

Alot of work, hard enough building a website for one client, not the thousands you have on here. Not a job i would want

I like the new skin, good colours and aesthetically pleasing buttons etc, but I do agree with the suggestion of allowing users to select it in the control panel. A lot of other sites I use implement this and its quite handy. A few even allow you to choose your own skin colours from hex values.

If you did that, everyone would be happy.

I'd love a simple dark theme with high contrasting text. How about opening it up Mike and let us submit our own themes and have a vote? I'm sure there would be some interesting ideas.
