Honestly??????
I n my opinion it completly ruins the feel of the forum. It turns it into another cheap and nasty commercially sponsered forum.
No other way of financing the site then? How do other forums do it? |

| Re: Forum Software Updates It is only a small ad, and at the end of the day, having it there helps the site, so it isn't unreasonable to ask to put up with them. I want to leave them there a while just to see how they perform there. I may make them for non members only later, but for, just let them be so I can evaluate them.

| Re: Forum Software Updates Giles - I use a vBulletin forum which is stupidly popular and it is covered in ads and people never seems to say anything. At the end of the day, people get used to change. I'm sure people won't like the facelift the site will get in a few weeks either, at least not to start with. |

| Re: Forum Software Updates Mike, you are answering your own question really, you use a forum covered in ads and you dont really notice them, which in turn means you obviously dont click on them, so given that everyone else will be the same, the clickthrough payments you see will be tiny IMHO
I do agree with Giles that it ruins the look of the site.
At the end of the day though, its worth a go, and its your site, so if you want to try them then fair enough, |

But still no cigar sort of When I click on the drop down arrow on colours I can a tiny white box and if I click in there I get different colours but can't see which ones I am choosing if you get me. And no I'm not joking but it is fun clicking on it and seeing what random colours you get |
