Thumbs up A Few Minor Site Changes

A few changes have been made to the site today, here is a quick run-down of these:

1. Forum layout has been changed to give a more sensible position for the different forums. It will take a while to get used to it, but I'm sure people will feel it is better after a while. It will also be easier for new users to find their way around.

2. The new Support Area creates a central area for general support questions (not car related). This area is made up for the old "testing and public help" and "Private Help Desk" forums. The later has been renamed to "MIGWeb Private Help Desk". In addition a "MIGClub Private Help Desk" has been added for club related questions only. The new MIGClub section is viewable only by admin staff and the person asking the question (obviously).

3. Reported Posts. If you have ever reported a post, you may wonder what happens to the report. Well previously, this was formatted as a post in the moderators forum. From today, your report will appear in the "MIGWeb Private Help Desk" - this way you can see our replies to your reports, and can interact with moderators if further info is needed.

4. The wanted forum has changed due to too many people being ripped off by con-artists. From today, new users can post wanted ads, but can not see wanted ads posted by others until they have been a MIGWeb user for at least 60 days and have more than 50 posts. All wanted ads can be seen by users meeting this criteria.

Many more changes coming very soon.

Some good changes there, I also like the how the admin crew and Mr webmaster are showing as on-line and not hiding in the background

Haven't made any change in hat respect Keith. Maybe some individual staff members have changed thier user CP settings. (Not I, I haven't been hidden for quite a while! )

Looks like a good forward step Mike.

I'm sure everyone will get used to the new layout pretty quickly.

need less "PM sent" replies, transactions and things like that should be made public for safety and come back reasons IMHO.

Old reports will not be moved as staff may have replied in a way not intended for public viewing.

yes I like the new purple border, rather more soft and pleasant to the eyes. Much better layout definitely.

Can we have the OT included back in the new posts function please - or at least the ability to turn it on/off in user CP. ?

Dom - I was thinking of adding it back in tbh, things do seem more sensible in there these days, so less reason to exclude it.

Stick it to a public vote - if the majority of people want it then the minority can't complain .
