Users online numbers
I have changed the way the site calculates the number of users online. As a result, this number is now lower than previously. This does not mean that there are less people here than before. Don't get the impression that the place is being desserted - there will be just as many posts as before.
This was changed to help reduce load on the server.
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Not going to ask how it used to work or how it works now, but am sure its a good thing.

Well the site performance seems to have increased 10 fold over the last 24 hours, and I haven't finished yet.

Is this server going to be
1) Reliable?
2) Fast, in the medium/long term?
3) Permanent? (ie we won't be moving again for a while)

Noticed the 'new posts' thing is set to a 30 second interval now.

The server is a Dual 2.6ghz Dual Core Xeon server (yes, as in two Dual Core CPUs) with 2GB DDR2 Ram and 2x SCSI hard drives.
It should be good for the foreseable future.
Missing features and post limitation will go back to normal once I have finished setting up the server.
