From K-reg car, 159K (nothing on these engines), 10W40 oil and filter changes every 5K. 204bhp with cats, 210 without. Dyno proven at 120K miles. Best offer around £200 secures. Manchester area.
Erm, I've never tried running an engine outside of the car, but I could give it a go! I can tell you I've had the car since 101K and it's never missed a beat. It has developed one slightly noisy tappet for about 5 mins in the morning after/during VERY cold weather but apart from that is good as gold.
i get that tappet thing every morning, still chucking out 235bhp though 280 would be nice but i have to make do with a measly 235
i have to say at 113k my old engine still had the honing marks on the bores i'd back that up (159k on these engines is nothing) that quote is true chaps
Course I don't mind you asking why I broke it, I'd do the same. I hit ice and lost it on a motorway slip road. The car ended up hitting the central reservation backwards

I've got no receipt for any work done on the chain but I always have it checked. Anyway a timing chain will always get very noisy for a while before it actually lets go. It's quiet.
Come on chaps it must be worth £200. That's less than £1 per bhp for goodness sake!!!!
