X20xev 4-2-1 manifold and sports cat, possible group buy.

Right iv been looking at sports manifolds for the x20xev engine and they are extremely overpriced. For this reason I'm currently in talks with a manufacture to get costing for producing a few in mild steel (likely coated) to save on cost over ss. I'll try and a get a price for just the manifold and then for the manifold and 200 cell sports cat.

Just wanted to gauge people interest in these?

Sounds good. I know that the Lexmaul on my C18XE would have been about £330ish new. Glad I never paid anything like that.

Exactly I've only found them for £300 isn in the uk. I did find supersprint making them in USA for £195, but obviously shipping over would be a killer! I've tried contacting supersprint distributors in Europe but they are know where close to the same low price.

I'm going to pick up the parts on Monday and get a friend to weld up the manifold. Once I get it finished I'll upload a load of pictures and we can work out a price. Getting my friend to weld them up should reduce the cost by a lot, he is also a very competent welder (no worries there).

Forgot to ask ff anyone has an objections to the erg ports being blanked by the manifold flange? IMO EGR is a terrible idea an iv blanked mine already.

Well after a few long nights finally got the manifold together. At the same time I welded a pipe inplace of the cat (de cat), I think however I'll be getting a 200cell metalic cat because boy did it make her very loud.

To simply it we used most of the original down pipe and welded a 2" flange between it.
I'll upload a video so you can hear how silly loud she is.











I also sprayed her up with ultra high temperature matt black paint.

Would be interested pending price but what are these to fit? No good just saying "for x20xev" as there different depending on if its a mk3/mk4/vectra ect? Infact the mk3's have early and late split sumps so there 2 different types?

Yeah mines an Astra MK4. What I would probably do is build up just the manif
old and flange, then allow the person to cut down the downpipe/weld on the flange. This "should" allow a better array of fitments.

Obviously this would mean the person would need to be able to weld/and or have someone who can for them.

Or if the person wanted I could just supply the kit and they can do it themselves.

Iv also driven it, its driving badly at the moment, this is because of the lack of cat though. I'm putting the cat back on sometime this week, so Ill get back with how it drives properly with just the new tubular manifold.

Iv got a price back from a company in the USA who could supply Super sprint manifold for the x20xev , if we bought all 4 they have remaining they could ship them together for £210 each, obviously I would then either need you to pick them up or ill post them to yourselves at cost.

Looking at the cost of the one I built up it would be around £200 + postage, so I think the deal for the Super sprint ones is best.
