    Retrimmed Interiors

ok, in an endeavour to make some extra cash i'm gonna offer my trimming services to people,

to start off with this well be interior parts such as headlinings, A pillars, visors, doorcards etc etc, i can trim virtually any material, Fuax suede leather vynl pink fluff if ya want it!!!

the deal would be priced per part for my labour costs plus materials, i can supply materials at there cost or you can supply the materials yourself, real leather would be priced slightly extra on an individual basis as can be more fiddly to work with,

appox cost plus materials for suede or similar materials would be,

    headlining (not inc Sunroof) £40,

    doorcards £30 per door card,

    grab handles £30 per set,

    rear parcel shelf £30

this would be based on you sending or supplying the parts, or sending the parts on exchange for the parts that i might have spare once ive trimmed them,

most smaller parts could be posted at your cost both ways, obviously larger parts such as headlinings would need to be delivered and collected,

there will be the possibilty of doing seat retrimming in the future, but this would be costed on a per job basis, approx for a cav gsi front and rear seats would be £500 depending on material choice plus materials

    if your interested PM me,

some exampes of some of my work,

could be interested in getting some seats recovered, i'll email you some pics of them so you can give me a quote,

    they're from an 1960 Austin Healey 3000,

I want them in black leather with red stitching and read piping,

have you got any pics of seats you have done?

is this your main trade or just a sideline?

    email is lem0nmonkey1981@hotmail.com

the only full seats ive done are those in the pics, heated cav gsi seats in black leather and suede centres, fully trimmed, both front and rear seats, most of the other work ive done has been headlinings door cards boot builds, gear gaitors etc, have fitted screens to headrests etc, this is very much a sideline,

send me the pics and i'll have a look for ya, just sorted myself out with a industrial sewing machine and am about to start another retrim of some buckets and rear bench for my cav turbo

yeah, look quite straight forward, older seats are always going to be a lot easier to do in terms of not having loads of electrics and bolsters are a lot easier to do, i'll work out a price for ya and get back to ya.

not directly no, but i did have the contact for the official alcantara distributor for the uk, as alcantara is a a brand the geniune stuff is very expensive, if you just want a faux seude, then a local upholstery or fabric shop will be able to supply, or if ya lucky you can find some good deals on the net.

basicly yes, alcantara is a posh italian brand of fake suede, comes in various thickness and differnet backings depending on its use, fake suede will look and feel very similar, but alcantara is circa £50 per metre unbranded fake suede from an upholstery shop will be circa £15 for a really nice one,

that will do then, but I dunno if you can get the colour. Its like a sandy beige colour and I want my nova rear bench trimmed in it.

look in the yellow pages for a local trimmer upholster of fabric shop and ask what they can get, they should be able to get you some samples, to get a colour match.

i know how it would be done, not something ive actually done yet, would need to make a fibreglass mould of the roof space and work from that to make the rigid roof, would almost be easier to find a scrapper nova and cut the roof off and make the mould from that, then trim up the roof from there,

the fabric one could be trimmed no doubt and prob wouldnt be any less tricky just different,

could be done though, not sure on price the fibre glass work would be more expensive i would imagine, than replacing or repairing the standered cloth one

assuming there standered style seats £250 plus materials and shipping etc, if there gsi style ones then £350 as there alot more fiddly, you'd prob need about 4 metres of fabric roughly.

no worries, actually i prob over estimated price wise, i had a look at some vectra seats last night, prob be more like £150 plus materials for the front seats, put still a local company is gonna still be loads easier regarding delviery etc
