Arrow Nova LET custom combi radiator/intercooler possible group buy

    Afternoon all,

Im about to have made a combined alloy radiator and intercooler for use with the Nova C20let conversion, This is going to be made for myself by Pro Alloy which im sure people will be aware of what they do and the workmanship of there products. Once this has been designed Roose will be making new coolant hoses and boost hoses for the standard KKK turbo and posible a few other turbo options for me.

Im basically now just looking for people who would be interested in one, odviously pictures and prices wont be available till i have got the first set done and costed accordingly.

Once this setup is completed i will be doing a setup for the corsa also.

    Chris

products like this dont come cheap but you do get what you pay for. I think there is a market for them when i see how much is spent on the rest of the car and this is something i get asked time and time again. I think people want a straight forward bolt on solution to the problem.

I would be interested in a radiator and possibly a cooler aswell.
A good size cooler that bolts straight in would sell quite well i think....however there is the fact that the vauxhall folk aren't keen on spending money and i know pro alloy is very high quality which will no doubt be represented in the price.

All i can do is what what price i can get sorted, was looking at doing a batch of 5 of which one will be mine, obviously can a bigger batch but looking at minimum of 5 hopefully.

Think having the combo will make it easier as people always locate the rad and you struggle getting the boost pipes past it!

I know what you mean mate, im not saying i want definate buyers just an idea of who would be interested then its down to getting the right product and the right price.

I was thinking of doing a combined unit, rad and intercooler in one which makes the most of the space and makes mounting easier. Or would people prefer them seperately?

only fault i can think of chris is that if your rad gets damaged your intercooler will also need binning or vise verser.

Maybe seperate items that bolt together would be better

Just a consideration Chris, maybe include the oil cooler as part of he kit? Rad & intercooler location can determine where you oil cooler goes. For example, I havn't centralised my rad as my IC boost pipes go out not back. This has meant the oil cooler can sit next to the rad.

On another car I'm helping to build the rad has been centralised and the IC sits in front with pipes going back. Because the IC isn't too high the cooler can be mounted on top of the IC.

If you did do a side by side unit like they have on the calibra a standard it would make the conversion much easier as there would be no lower panel trimming needed. Also, you only have to worry about designing one water hose kit!

If you want to chat about water hoses drop me a PM as I've made a list of all vauxhall part numbers that can be used for the conversion and fit great. You can easily use these as a template for a silicon kit. The part numbers I've put together also work if the rad is in standard location or centralised. They just need tweeking accordingly.

    Hope this helps.

p.s. As far as the cost of the proposed setup goes, the kind of people who would want to spend that sort of money are genrally going for pretty big power. Are you going to be able to get a decent side cooler in if its side by side to fit this need?

Think your bang on there Chris, 13 row seems to be used alot.....mainly for general road use i think. There are a few folk using the 15 though, maybe just the higher output or track day people using these.

Think your def on to somthing there mate im just in the depths of fitting my rad and stuff in my v6 nova and it is a nightmare and will get worse when i fit my turbo finding the room for the intercooler. but i really agree about the oil cooler instead of the intercooler (for the 16v boys not me) cos i think the intercooler will get too much hot air across it from the rad..

    keep me posted mate deffinate
