i have a late let engine, is it flat or pot type? obviously your flywheels will be amazing but whats the benefits of buying one of yours instead of getting mine lightened at an engine machine shop, or are yours just lighter than they can makea standard one safely? thanks
oh no, ive bought a nova shell!

All let engines run pot type flywheel so yours should be a pot.

The stock flywheel is designed to be a stock flywheel..

If your running more power, paddle clutches and higher rpm's the cast flywheel is out of its depth strength wise if it has been lightened allot.

With these billet steel flywheels, you have a nice quality material for your clutch to bite on for starters, the material is flawless compared to a cast iron one so has a uniform strength and mass.. the integral ring gear is added safety at high rpms and alows allows us to remove material from the outside of the flywheel and use it to strengthen where it matters and aid heat disipation whilst also gaining a lower inertia.. all flywheels are also dynamically balanced... compared to a lightened stock flywheel the 2 are like chalk and cheese...

IMO you cant lighten a cast flywheel safely, and you certainly shouldnt use them in a tuned application... but people do and not may people have problems... Anyone who has bought one from me has been pretty chuffed with the results.. and honestly £190 is allot of money but its very cheap for a product like this.

Ah ok, these are direct replacement for the standard flywheel, so if that works ok with the F23 box these flywheels will be just fine.

the f23 ak refers to is a mk4 2.0 dti f23, i use one on my c20let but i have to use an early type flat xe flywheel as the pot type fouls the inner casing iirc.

from the puma website - very funny lmao

If you are going to get your standard cast iron road car flywheel lightened then be sure to take it to a proper vehicle engineer and not just your local machine shop. Take off too much material and it might be weakened so much that it explodes in use. Given that flywheels (at least in rear wheel drive cars) tend to be situated about level with your feet, it isn't worth the extra acceleration if you lose both feet when the ring gear comes out through the side of the transmission tunnel like a buzz saw at 7,000 rpm. There are plenty of ex racing drivers hobbling about on crutches who'll tell you that this can and does happen. On FWD cars the effects can even more unpleasant - a flywheel entering the cabin can give you a split personality starting from just below the waist that will put quite a crimp in your day
interested in a c20let flywheel shortly. whats the differnece between normal and superlight?

    cheers

No worries i have them in stock.

To run a superlight you would need to use a 7 1/4" clutch.. would be to much for road use imo. A normal lightweight one is just right!
