Size matters but does shape?

Have been reading articles about bass boxes, and i've gotten a varied oppinion on the difference the shape makes, some people have made all sorts of weird looking boxes clamining amazing improvement while others say that it's complete rubbish, most of the pre-built standard enclosures are oblong shaped, including my own,

Does anyone have any experience with a bass box that isn't oblong, if so how do you rate it, im tempted to investigate but want some advice first.

i did a bit of resaerch into this for my own needs and i discovered it is not so much the shape but the actual size that matters build your box to the volume recommended and no probs. be it sealed,vented or bandpass. personally i had a cube box for a year till i redid some of my build and rebuilt it as a sloped back one to take up less space. hope this helps
