    Unhappy Any Ideas?

After finally getting my Pioneer head unit in (after Lee69 sending me the removal strips and our Postal Service losing them, I managed to get the ******* out of my old car)

It has been working alright apart from the memory not working, this I could put up with but yesterday I put the facia on and nothing happened. I know that there is power there because when I turn the ignition, I can hear the tape mechanism start but there is no sign of life adter that

Please help me, I was stuck in a traffic jam this morning with nothing to listen to apart from my heaters

he's in chester and is pretty damn good.
must say those symptoms dont sound good if the power wiring is correct

    Question

    Nikk, I'n your sig you've got a black Mk2 Astra is it a GTE? If it's a 1.3, 1.4 or a 1.6 I may be interested in buying it.
    Cheers

Dunno if it's just a Cav thing or if all Vauxhall's need it but if its losing its memory then maybe the permanent and switched lives need swapping over?

    Could be worth a look...

    Thanks for the replies,

Rob, I might well have to go down that road but I'm buying a house in two weeks and money's really tight.

    Gander,

Unfortunately for yourself, it is a insurance un-friendly 2.0 8v.

I was looking for a reset button somewhere but I guess Pioneer's dont have them because the same thing happened on a sony head unit a few years back and I just reset the thing and Walla.....it worked

    Regards

    Nikk

nikkk on my stereo i think the reset is on the front quite well hidden.need a biro to reset it or like rob said take of the face and its there.
the wiring needs to be live all the time so you dont lose memory and you can turn it on without keys in ignition.

    Unhappy

there will be two power wires from the head unit. one is for ignition and the other for memory. the stereo will work with these either way round, but you must have the memory wire from the stereo to the ignition wire from the car. the ignition wire from the car should be black, and if memory serves, the permanent feed should be red? it sound like they are mixed up.

did that make any sense to anyone?
