Question Sony head unit to cd changer???

I know that this should be in the ICE section...but come on, who ever honestly checks that regularly!!!!

I have the oppurtunity to buy a 10 disc CD changer off of my girlfriends cousin dirt cheap, as some low life nicked his face-off stereo very recently.

Slight concern is that my Sony face-off has no visual clue to whether i can connect to a changer, as some actually say "changer control" or something similar on the face dont they.

    Mine is a :

    Sony CDX-4270R FM/MW/LW CD Player
    1bit D/A Coverter
    40wx4

Couple of years old, but a damn good unit.
The chap in the Exeter SOny centre when i bought it said to connect a changer you would have to have the next model up, but that was well expensive in compariosn so he was obviously after the commission!!!

Anyone any ideas if/how it would connect?

    I WANT that changer!!! lol

    Hi graham,

    I don't think it will connect http://www.car-hi-fi-centre.co.uk/product.asp?ProdID=68

This site doesn't say it is a CD controller and i think it would say it if it was.

    Exclamation Bugger!

    Oh well........

I have e-mailed Sony directly a few minutes ago with thsi same enquiry, and have just, thanks to yourself e-mailed the 'CAr Hi-fi centre' with the same.

Hopefully someone should be able to shed some light on it even if it tuns out that my head unit cannot control a changer.

Cheers 4 taking the time to try and find out mate

its easy to tell mate, just look on the back of the unit.

if it has two ports, which look like pre outs and under them it says something like "bus in", then u do have changer control. if in any doubt take it into ya local halfords and ask them. or if u cant be assed to do that i will phone sony technical for ya

email me if u need any more help
