    Post Vectra - Standard System?

    Hi,

Just bought a 98 Vectra (not picked it up yet) that looks like it has the standard Vauxhall stereo in it (cassette and radio, no cd). Does anyone know the power output of this setup and also the speakers used? Can I add any make of cd changer to it or does it have to be a Vauxhall?

Or is it all just crap and I need to change it?

    Thanks, TimBax

It has something like 4x12w output, but the power is nothing compared to the quality of the output, its awful. The speakers are identical to those in the Cavalier and Astra, and they are great when they're new, but they take one over enthusiastic volume boost, and they're scuppered.

There is a specific CD changer that fits, but it is about £400 at my last check. It is cheaper and better to get a new headunit/CD changer combo.

But to answer your last question, yes it is all crap, and yes, you should change it!!!
