    fitting a slave unit

hi im new to this group and have a question for you which is.
I reciently got a sony minidisk head unit and tape slave unit and was wondering if any one knows how to fit the second unit in a mk3 cav , does any company make an adaptor kit for fitment or do I have to make an adaptor for it.
any help would be much apreciated as this is begining to drive me nuts and the g/f is begining to complain about the hole I've cut in the dash to fit it .

    I've got a slave unit in my car...but its a Mk3 Astra!!

So whats the story..if you've already cutted a hole, does it not fit straight in?
Where abouts are you putting it?
Whats the problem with fitting it?

-If your having trouble supporting the weight there are several options.
Obviously fit the cage etc in, but if this ain't strong enough you're gonna have to get your hands dirty; either adapt a universal surround/support that you can buy from anywhere like halfords etc. Another possibility is buying some metal strip: holes punched along it at a universal distance, you can use this attatched to the back of the head unit and then attatched to the inside of th dash.

    Any more details/photos?

This is how I fitted my Kenwood EQ (DIN size) in the tray beneath my head unit. If you need any other info i`ll be happy to help.

Me & a mate managed to do this to my cav a little while ago, its a bit of a mission & there are probably better ways to do it but this is how we did it -
Remove the tray section & unclip the bit on the back, you are left with with two long bits of plastic down each side. We cut these down so that the cage for the EQ was a tight fit in the tray, the gap left at the top can be filled with one of sticky bits of foam supplied with the EQ. To fully secure the EQ in place we used some very small screws (anything to long could damge the internals) that went through the plastic, the cage & into the unit itself.

The end result looks classy as (especially with the higher range Kenwood heads) the only slight problem was that there is very little space left behind the unit to get the RCAs in but they will just go.
