6x9s in front doors of Mk3 Cav

I am going to attempt to do this soon to get more volume in the front of the car & put the dual mags in the rear doors, measured it up a bit & it doesn`t seem to much of a mission.

Has anyone got any ideas of what material is best to use for the door build/pods ?

    Cheers

MDF for the speakers to screw into, and then using a spare door card, make a base piece of wood to sit on the door card, and stretch speaker mesh or a cotton sheet over the 2 bits of wood - space them with long screws... then use fibreglass resin, and coat the matting until you have a solid surface... sand, and either spray or carpet...

be prepaired to do it more than once, and don't do too complicated a shape, or the material won't pull over it tight...

you can sit the speakers slightly into the door cards if you have space behind them, giving a more flush look... you have to screw the pod in well with many screws and sounds deaden, or they will rattle the door card and sounds bad... you could screw the wood to the door subframe..

Cheers for the advice mate, picking up a couple of spare door cards soon for trial purposes.
