Amp enquiry
hi all. i have currently got a kenwood mp6090r head unit and have just replaced the front door speakers on my astra mk3. i am shortly going to be fitting a pair of 6 x 9s in the rear also. i was just wondering if all you ice people out there know if i would get a beter sound running the speakers through an amp or just straight off the head unit. i am new to car audio so if this is a stupid question please ignore it.
cheers all

They would definately sound better being run from an amp, if your short of cash, this is often a solution to not having a sub, because a decent pair of amped 6x9's in the rear shelf will sound like you have a sub.

They wont replace the sound made from a sub. Dont get me wrong, they'll be loud, but they have nuffin on a sub at 33 Hz! Theres no greater feeling than havin your inards hurting coz of a really low bass line. Anyway, you dont need 6x9's. The sub will more than suffice. All you need is a 4 channel amp powering some 6 inch mids and 2 12s or one 12 (bridged).
