It may just be a coincidence that this has happened at the time of fitting the stereo, If you really want to be sure, get a multimeter get the car running and check to see that the battery is charging, IE your alternator is working and hasn't just packed up,

Even though it is a standard fitment block, I have known the switched and permant lives to be the wrong way round on certain models, Just the stereo retain is memory settings? If not they are reversed and that could be the cause.

The other thing is are you using the stereo when the engine is running? It may drain the battery quickly if you are using it when its not running.

Can it be switched on whilst the ignition is off? If so it's wired up to a permanent live, swap this over to an ignition live and you'll be okay.

Should be a case of moving a headunit wire from the red to the yellow on the harness (some like Alpine already have a crimp terminal to allow you to do this easily)

For a battery to go down in just an overnight period, its an indication of a fairly heavy drain, so if I were you I would check that when everything is off, there should be no more than about 100mA drain on your battery, this 100mA (tenth of an Amp) is usually for some things that draw this current to supply power to alarm and security circuits, clock etc. It should be well under this figure, if assuming your battery is at least 45AH then for it to go down to less than 10v then you have a frightening amount of drain, the cause could be that in your wiring your stereo, its been wired incorrectly, or you have another problem caused by your wiring where something went wrong when for example you may have reversed a connection and that blew up someting such that it is now drawing too much current. Does happen and can happen. connecting something wrong way.

Yep! It would be the first thing i'd try..... If your not technical enough to meassure drainage with a multi-metre try removing the radio/cutting its power supply off.

If you can use a multi meter, still try it. As said, it must be quite a heavy current to completly drain it over night. Get ur meter reading and undo the radio, if its causing it ul see a huge drop in current. If not, start pulling fuses 1 by 1 untill you find the problem.
