Bit of a long shot here (as I'm not quite sure whether or not it's legal to ask this):
Due to someone dying in our family, I was asked to sell his car.
Ford Focus C-max 2004 model.
It has an integrated radio control panel (sony 1CD player).
Car stood still for some time, battery died, I changed the batt and now the radio asks for a code.
Apparently the owner must have changed the code (standard code is 1234, and that doesn't work. The first page of the manual where you should write down the code was torn out and kept somewhere else (not in the car), exactly as per the manual.
We searched his house, for that page (and the second key) are nowhere to be found (also not at work, at friends, ...)
Any options besides going to the Ford dealership (where I have never been before, and who will probably charge for this)?
Also, official spare keys won't be cheap?
I bet people will be asking questions when selling a car with only one key and a radio that doesn't work...? pffffff it also needs 2 new tyres for the MOT and some other bits and bobs done for MOT and selling.
thx in advance...
