recommend me a head unit, mfd compatible

Looking to get a headunit that works with the mk3 astra gsi's mfd. I know i'll probably be limited to a vaux. unit, so which one do you guys recommend. was thinking of something from an omega mv6 or something?

Pretty much anything Vauxhall single din for an external display will work. A CDR-500 will be cheap and easy to find, I picked one up on ebay recently for the Corsa for just shy of £40.

Alternatively I had a (long discontinued) Blaupunkt headunit in my mk4 Astra years back - there was an adaptor available off the shelf to hook it in to the MFD. There's bound to be a number of aftermarket headunits with external display capabilities and suitable adaptors on the market to do the same. Have a look at the various manufacturers and see what's about with the features you want.

Edit to add: The nasty aftermarket VDO dealer fit stuff was compatible with the MFD as well.

    thanks for that mate.
really considering something like the bose system from an mv6 but heard it could be a pain to connect up.
