    stereo no go :(

just in case it goes unnoticed in elec thread, had issues with the car last night which resulted in me doing a temporary fix to get home ( read hotwire) today gone to check what parts i need and what i can salvage, have now got no stereo, tried a stock cdr500, that powers up to safe mode and thats it, not allowing me to input a code, could i have fried the 12v feed wire to the hu? all relevant fuses have been checked, replaced 7.5, 20 and stereos 10,

anyone help? i like the noise the car makes but i also like the noise the stereo made.
    I smile because I don't know what's going on.

Have you checked there is +12v permanent on the red wire to the radio and +12v with the ignition on only on the black wire to the radio ?
