Double Din to Single Din
Ok guys, i have a Astra H 150 CDTI...stereo system is currently standard, I have done a few mods to the exterior and now thought id spend a bit of time on interior, i was thinking of starting with the ICE, however before i wasted too much time researching etc i thought id ask on here whether anyone has replaced the standard double din stereo with a single din setero and if so how much effort this was!
Any input would be great!

Re: Double Din to Single Din
As above, a suitable fascia adaptor plus a suitable wiring harness and optionally, but reccommended, a steering wheel remote interface to retain the existing controls - important if you have the trip computer as you lose access to it when the stock head unit is removed unless you use an adaptor that will control it.
Companies like autoleads and connects2 supply pretty much all you need. A lot of their products are available off the shelf in the likes of Halfords etc.

Re: Double Din to Single Din
In my Polo, I had a double din unit, and changed to a single din Pioneer unit, when I researched online, models with a single din head unit have a cubby hole below, so I sourced a single din cubby hole from a breakers yard. This could be the case for you. I cant remember if the double din's in the newer astra are trapezoids, if thats the case you may need to buy an adapter plate, Halfrauds do them for around £20, or companies on ebay do them for considerably less
