Have a delco cdr500 here, bought as working

Radio works fine, but when putting in a cd it says TR -- for a few seconds, then says ERROR CD and ejects itself, doesnt sound like its trying to spin to me.

I realise its probably just died, but wondered if anyone had seen this/got it working again?
