    Mk3 Astra door speaker issues

When i first purchased the car there were no speakers, doing the car on a budget led me to buy some 17cm Fli speakers Since having the car for just over three years i have had two identical sets of speakers, both of which have had the cone seperate from the outter ring.

I dont drive them hard, infact they are driven direct from the head unit and not overly loud yet they have both gone the same way.

Is it something i could have done wiring wise or just a sign that the speakers are cheap crap?

With it in mind that i need some new ones again, what do you recommend? I dont want to spend huge amounts of money as i dont see the point, hence the original choice

Id say its because there rubbish, but fli are made by vibe and (SOME) vibe speakers arnt usually that bad especially the kevlar 1's. In fact i have the kevlar 6x9's amped and i would defo reccomend them, shame the vibe components dont fit in our doors

Is the inside of your door damp? the rubber surround can perish easily over time when exposed but i would of thought that to be quite rare :S

I use kenwood components and they sound good, remember you cant go over 56mm mounting depth i think it is or your windows wont go down fully

As above - maybe dampness or moisture getting in and delaminating the surround ?

Just dont buy those speakers again then and stick to brands like pioneer/alpine/kenwood/infinity. at least you know your getting quality then.

My kenwoods have lasted nearly 2 years now and were only about £40
