Kenwood kdc-bt60u and stering controll wiring on 2001 astra dti...

    Hi everyone,
I just acquired a 2001 vauxhall astra club DTI that had a Philips car 400 stereo.
So, a decided to upgrade to a kenwood KDC-BT60U because it stated that it has OEM Wired Remote Control support.

I have order with the stereo the following leads
    Steering Wheel Stalk Adaptor
    Sterio patch lead
I have fitted the stereo including the patch lead to the harness but to where do i connect to patch lead to? I mean, there is a round connector with four pins that comes out of the control box but there is no such input in the sterio, there is also a solo brown wire that comes out of the control box but i don’t know where to connect it to.
I just want my steering controls to work.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks

I have a connect2 interface for my Sony stereo in my Vectra B (Does the wheel controls and display)

The patch lead connects the to Adaptor/Interface and then the hard wired remote of the stereo (single blue wire iirc) connects to the brown wire on the patch lead. You then turn the ignition on and with any luck it should be working.

The patch lead is a universal one so fits both old and newer Kenwood h/u's

Well, had a stab at it this morning,no dice.
the only blue wire there is the blue/white that is for Amps or electrical antennas.
looking at the kenwood wiring instrucions it says that the ligth blue/yellow cable coming from the kenwood harness is for the strering whell control box, problem is no such wire exists in the harness! I it possible that the radio came with the wrong harness?
my only solution is to seek professional help but here in Jersey i just dont know where.
    Back to the drawing board.

here it is a link to te manual if anyone wants to take a look ,page 63

    Various astra's,

Re: Kenwood kdc-bt60u and stering controll wiring on 2001 astra dti...

    Did you get this sorted?

I've had a Mk 4 astra with a slightly different model of kenwood head unit and have the exact autoleads adaptor you would need to get this sorted (from a previous mk4 astra)

    Part no. is PC9-706

This adaptor has both the single wire (that you need) and the mini din connector (for older kenwood stereos)

This adaptor also adapted the display on my old kenwood KDC-W7027 but this was marked as 'OEM display compatible' so am unsure whether this would also do the display on newer kenwood head units.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but i been very busy.No still the same, the problems is there is no steering wire coming out of the headunit harness,i also noticed that there is 2 empty pins in the harness,i guees one of thenm is supposed to be the one missing,im going to do some hacking to see if i can make it to work.

how much do you want for you leads? One can never have to many leads
