Corsa B key cutting / remote locking?

Hi,

I have a 1999 Corsa B and only have one key for it. Do I have to get a new one from Vauxhall as I believe it has a chip in the black plastic?

Is there a kit available to have remote locking as in a Vauxhall item rather then going aftermarket? My wifes Vectra of the same year has it built into the key.

Many independent locksmiths can supply chipped keys and program the immobiliser. Shop around for a price.

I've heard that Vauxhall did do a RCL kit for the Corsa, or at least one that could be adapted to the Corsa. Never seen one myself though I believe it was a separate fob rather than built into the key body. I've also heard of people using the Vectra RCL units but again, haven't seen one in action.

when i wanted one, vaux wanted 12 squid for the key, plus about 20 for a chip and same again to program it. soemthing like that ayway
