Replacement stereo for Astra H - advice and leads required

I know this is probably a question that is asked everyday but i need some advice.

I'm looking at getting a new head unit for my mark 5 astra which currently has a CD30.

I've been looking at the JVC KW-XR811 which is about £180, has anyone got this unit or recommend another one around the price? The main function is that i want to be able to use my iphone in the car to play music and the added bluetooth function on the JVC is ideal.

Also i want to keep the steering wheel controls so if anyone knows the lead model number i need and the ISO harness part number that would be great.

    Thanks

You will need a new facia panel for the double DIN unit, you are probably best getting this from Vauxhall to get the colour match right.

I use and recommend the Connects2 ISO harness as this lets you keep the trip computer functions but also lets you change the clock/date and some system settings (you get instructions on how to do this). You will also need the JVC Patch lead to keep the steering wheel controls. You will also need a FAKRA aerial adaptor.

Not sure on the serial numbers though. Shop around for the bits as the prices can vary from shop to shop.

    Hope this helps.

pgeddes79 thanks for the fast reply, i have only just logged back on.

i've now ordered the FAKRA aerial adapter, connects2 lead and JVC patch lead but with the fascia panel i've got the colour from vauxhall but there seems to be different types of fascia panels.

Theres one which is just the surround and one that looks like a do it yourself cage. do you know which one i need?

    Thank you

You just need the facia panel itself but I'm not sure if you can that part on it's own. The kit I got was £40 which had the facia panel, fixing screws and Vauxhalls own ISO harness (which you don't need).
