CDC - Safe (whats it mean)

OK, so the radio is working fine, but when my wife tried to turn the CD player on it comes up with CDC - Safe...

The owners guide says i need a car pass or radio pass (i have neither). I have however have the radio code, but it does not work to get rid of the CDC - Safe. Then manual says there is a preset safe code in the CD unit. has anyone else came across this? with out the pass's will it be a trip to the vauchall dealer?

agreed, multi cd players have their own code. you may need to go to Vauxhall to get it.

as said above you need a code for the radio and a code for the cd changer unit, you input the cd changer code the same way as you input the stereo code.

Its a philips CCR 600 head unit. The radio works fine, its just teh CD unit that is playing up. Its the first time its been turned on since we had a bad earth sorted. Why woudlit be cheaper to get a new head unit? what sort of cost with the CD changed code be ?
