car radio code i have but it says SAFE
My car was laid up for over a year with the battery disconnected when i eventually got the car back on the road and including a new battery the head unit is now locked in SAFE.
I have the code to put in to unlock the radio but it has never actually let me have any attempts at putting the code in it just went straight into the locked SAFE readout on the mfd when i fitted a battery.
Car is a corsa b
radio is a grundig car 200
is there a way to get it to accept a code?

I think you need to press and hold ul or another button then turn the cd player on and the screen should appear

Re: car radio code i have but it says SAFE
Turns out it was just me being a complete biff anyway lol.
If you do it like it says in the manual instead of just pretending to know what your doing it works first time.
did this and it works now cheers
Turn Ignition On
Turn radio Off
turn radio On so it says SAFE on the display.
Press and hold the AS button whilst turning radio On.
This should generate a beep and put 10 ---- on the screen
now use 1 to 4 to enter the code.
with code on screen press and hold AS button

Re: car radio code i have but it says SAFE
The code is specific to that headunit, it is usually printed on a little card in the owners manual. If you dont have it you can get the radio unlocked by going to vauxhall and paying them some money to give you the code.....Or you can ask somebody to see if they can get you a code from the serial number written on the side of the head unit.
