Hi, I’ve just recently sold a Vauxhall Siemens VDO CDR500 Car Stereo on eBay but I’m having a few problems with the seller. He reckons it’s faulty which I vastly disbelieve as I’ve had this car stereo since I owned my Mk3 Astra which is going on for 6 Years now and it had never failed on me in that time. I even tested the radio before posting it off and it all was excellent. It was a reluctant sale as I prefer the original GM Vauxhall CD radios than the aftermarket radios but I wanted to upgrade the old girl to a DAB radio. Anyway, he installed the radio, tested the functions and the CD player (as you normally do) and all seems fine but this is where is starts to go wrong! The CD fails to eject and it's displaying 'CD ERROR'. I am going to 'pop' up to see the buyer to get the thing working for him but what caution should I use about removing the CD jammed in the CD slot? He supposedly said he took it to his local Vauxhall cowboys which they said that it would not be a simple matter to fix, not even just to get the CD out! My experience with the cowboys at Vauxhall is they are just there to frighten customers into buying expensive parts which are seldom needed. Could any kindly help me?
