where to get mk4 astra van aerial base (aftermarket - HELP)
Hi, the std bee sting aerial base in my mk4 van was knackered, and the h/u plug was cut off the other end. So i got a full replacement aerial from ebay (new cable that had a std pin type plug for the headunit, amplified base and mast)
Only problem was that the new base had too shallow a mast angle, meaning the spoiler would bent the mast about 20degrees
So i fitted the internals of the new aerial into the std vauxhall base, which worked fine for 3 months.
Reception is poor again, and disconecting the amplifier from +12v makes no difference, so i think the amp has gone...
SO what i need is a replacement base,
- at the correct mast angle (looks to be around 70 or 80deg)
-with the aftermarket pin type plug to match my aerial to h/u lead
This is the common 57deg one (i need the same, but with steeper mast angle)

Looked at the screen mount aerials as an alternative, but cant help thinking they wont be very good. Another option would be a shark fin, but imo they look awfull...

The Astra GSi/Sport mk3's look identical, but have a screw on connector - the plug-in one you have there looks ideal - you can get 3m - 5m of cable and just link it up and plug it into the radio. Someone chopped the cable off mine, and they're impossible to fix.
