key cutting ???????

hi all
can any 1 tell me if it is possible to cut a igntion key from my door lock as i ve lost my keys for a 2001 astra coupe i have opened the door and looked at igntion cant see a way to remove barrel with out damaging it door lock seems simplest way

when did you loose them? what were you doing at the time? open a can of beer and relax and sit back and think where you might have left them, it often works!!


It is extremely hard for anyone to make keys from a barrel, but yes it can be done and only a few experts can do it, Vuxhall might be able to help you with the key profile from the vehicle chassis number but it won't be cheap. And you will still need a transponder to start your car.


So basically you are doomed and unless you can sit back and relax and reflect what activities you have been doing and where you went, what you did this might give you a clue where your keys are, aslo worth checking with the local police as someone might have handed in your lost keys !!

if you don't try you won't get them.


But having siad all that, sometimes they just pop out of no where!!!!!lol

take the reg and v5 to your dealer and ask them to order you a new key or order a new lockset
