astra wiring

i took out the old cassette player to find 3 blocks, all connected together, bottom one being power, middle one being for the speakers, but the top block, is larger than the other 2, with only 4 brown wires going into it

does anyone know what these 4 wires are?

also, the 2 other blocks will obviously fit into my head unit, but to do so, id need to cut off the top over sized block, tape up the 4 brown wires

can i do this?

there for your info clock, they tell you the station etc of the vaux stereos, do not cut that block, i did that a few years back and the car ran funny so i think its something to do with the engine too

ok, what if i just cut that over sized block away from the other 2 and taped it up? as it wont be use as it doesnt fit into the back of the head unit

yeah itll be ok to seperate the big block from the two smaller blocks, just DONT do anything to the wires lol
