CDR 500 not taking a code...

After the battery died on the car at Easter I finally got round to pulling the head unit out to see if a code was written on it and to get the serial number off incase I needed to get the code.

It was a major faff getting it out (coat hangers FTW lol) and upon slotting it back in, pressing AS then powering up with a Beep, it says SAFE 10 on the screen but I cant put the code in at all... the number buttons do nothing.

Is it possible I broke a connection while pulling the headunit out?

Could be, I broke the volume knob, when I changed the centre console.

Have you tried taking the removable panel out, and blowing on the contacts, in a old Game boy style?
