Delco CDR 500 issue with entering code

can anyone help me please

I have a Delco CDR 500, when I try to enter the code

I hold the AS button and then turn on the radio and it comes up with “SAFE” and makes the “beep” sound but then just stays like that

It won’t proceed to allow me to enter the code

Does anyone have any idea what can cause this or what I can do?

sounds like the wrong code has been entered and the timer has kicked in. Leave it with safe illuminated and the ignition on til it times out iirc. Think it doubles every time wrong code entered so 2 mins first time then 4, 8, 16, 32, etc.
