Fitting sub and have a problem?

Hello guys just fitted a sub for partner and its not working was removed a few months ago from her other car and was working fine.

Its a sub and amp that are already wired together

So all i had to do is get a sub kit and wire it in

Power lead to battery and then amp

Remote lead to back of head unit then amp

Then the plug connector things to amp and head unit

    Earth from amp to body

The problem is everythings connected have power via multimeter but no amp light remove the earth and the power light comes on even though nothing happens

    Any ideas?

Sounds like its wired up wrong somewhere, possibley at the head unit. Try disconnecting the remote wire from the amp and splitting the permament live feed to power the remote side and the main power, leave the earth connected and see what happens. if that fails I can only presume either a bad earth or a lose wire in the amp

    Define what 'not working' means....

Does the Amp come on..... but it seems that there is no output to the Sub?

This is the connection to the Sub itself, replace the speaker wires.

Does the Amp not come on at all?

This could be a bad live wire, or the remote wire is not connected to the head unit properly.....you say it works in another car... could it be a problem with the head unit your partner is using?....

Just re-read what you put and you did define what not working meant.... lmao

ahhh im a tit, ah well ill keep the post up just incase it helps mate

I would suggest you recheck your wiring is correct.... Removing the amp earth should have no bearing on amps status power wise....

If wiring is found to be correct, (Batt feed to Batt terminal on Amp, Remote turn on to Remote terminal on Amp & Earth to Earth), then it would appear that the amp has suffered a dead short during removal from previous car or installation into this one... Either way the amp is goosed & will require repair...
if it sounds right to you, then its right.
