Upgrade Mk 4 Astra Gsi Alarm

I'm wanting to buy a proper alarm for my new Gsi but don't have a scooby what all the stuff means when I read about them. Would like to be able to programme in a remote start function too to warm up the turbo before I start driving. Can anybody recommend a good alarm that can do this?

But the alarm on the MK4 GSi is a cat 1 insurance approved one. Adding remote start to it would down grade it!

All the factory fitted alarms to the MK4 astra's are Cat 1 approved

Is that true of my 2.2 SRi? If so, do i actually get 'cheaper' insurance?

iirc, all 'fruity' models, with the remote key, and deadlocks are cat 1. Someone has fitted a Cat 1 toad to out Gsi, and left the std alarm in series too. It's very confusing, and i can't see the benefit.

On our ACT, someone has added a viper module, that adds proximity, but it all still works off the std key.
