    Clifford Programming

I have a Concept 600 which appears to be set to not beep on arm/disarm, and I want it to. It doesn't appear to be due to the usual failed battery (it chirps during my attempts at programming, and after stopping the siren), so I am trying to sort it via the PlainView switch.

Trying bring the operative word. I can't seem to actually get into the programming mode.

Valet mode I can do, so I've got the right code.

I've tried putting the code in followed by holding *, but instead of one chirp after 3 secs, I get 3 chirps after 20 secs or so.

I've also tried putting it in valet mode before holding *, but even less happens then.

It's gotta be me doing something wrong here, any pointers?

    hi,

I really think it is due to failed battery problem.

mine does the same thing, whilst the alarm works, chirps work intermittantly
I do find however that, when I disconnect the car battery and leave for 30 secs then reconnect the problem goes !

    not sure about programming

I cant get into valet programming mode anymore

    but alarm/immoby still works

Bah, I was under the impression that if the battery was at fault, it wouldn't chirp for anything? Ah well, maybe I'll splash out on a new battery in the future and see what happens. It's not a major thing really.

    Re: Clifford Programming

you have to sort out the dud battery in the siren 1st.
there is a guy on eBay that does them for £20, which i think is a bargin.
have you tried cliffnet wizard at all ? that should work.

the g4 c600 is a excellent piece of equipment may i say so.

    Re: Clifford Programming

Thing is, I'm still not sure the battery is dead, it does the 4 chirps to warn you of an open door and all that. Grr.

Don't have CliffNet unfortunately, not even sure if the car is fitted with the interface anyway.

    Re: Clifford Programming

the ecu all have the interface. that's if its g4 or g5, as its a c600 it will have.
the warn away chirps will work anyway. it is your battery in the siren TRUST ME.
so the case is, if a thief gets to the siren he can mute it by cutting the wires to it as the back up battery is duff !!

    Re: Clifford Programming

    Well I am now confused.

Fitted the new battery, there are now chirps so I can get round the programming 'menu'.

Set it to the standard quiet chirps, and test it. All is well

Figured I don't know what the previous owner had set up, I decided use the reset to defaults option and set it up how I want. It hasn't chirped on arm/disarm since

    Re: Clifford Programming

need to get into the menu to set up chirps on arm/disarm.
do it via cliffnet wizard. man its so much easier.

I'm quite a whiz with the menu now lmao

I've tried setting it to loud chirps & quiet chirps... oh why didn't I just leave it when it worked

    Re: Clifford Programming

Right as you seem to be a genius on this, please let me know I'm not doing it wrong with the help of this lovely MP3:

    http://www.rustyweb.co.uk/sounds/clifford.mp3

    What I think is happening:
    • First chirp: Enter program mode
    • 2 chirps: Column 2 selected
    • 1 chirp: Row 1 selected
    • 1 chirp: Chirps disabled
    • 1 chirp: Row 1 selected
    • 2 chirps: Loud chirps selected
    • 3 chirps: Exit programming mode as I've switched off the ignition

One thing I have noticed is that after selecting the chirps, if I don't kill the ignition in 1 or 2 seconds, it dumps me back to the root of the programming menu with 3 chirps. Doesn't mention anything about that in the manual, it should take 5 seconds for that apparently.
