AfterMarket Stereo Wont Work In Vectra???

Hey, my aftermarket stereo wont work in my 1995 vectra?? theres 3 blocks on the car, but theres only 2 open blocks on the bak of my stereo,, i tryed takin 1 of the 3 blocks, and fittin it in my stereo, but stereo still dont work?? people have said the 3rd block is only for steerin wheel controls ect.. and it shud work with just the 2 blocks, but it still dont work lol. is there like a power wire or some thing on the 3rd block i need 2 wire up to 1 of the 2 blocks??? thanks... ( o btw i tryed my mates stereo in there and still didnt work, so i know its not my stereo lol )

On a Vauxhall radio loom the battery and ignition +12v positions are transposed compared to standard ISO, but it depends on what your aftermarket stereo is. Personally my preference is to fit a wiring harness from the likes of Autoleads/Connects2/Halfords etc to convert to standard ISO.

If you're going to do it yourself though, check out the sticky on this section for the radio connections.

Same here don't like chopping the wires looks neat with a conversion block and its quicker to fit

Conversion block? Every stereo I've ever owned has the ability to swapthe red & yellow wires 'built in' to it's loom, no need to any sort of block.

when i say conversion block mayb i should of said harness you can get em for about 12pound u plug em into the standard vauxhall loom then the radio of ur choice no chopping of wires needed its a conversion from standard block connector to say a sony radio much neater than cutting and taping wires.

Get a jewellers screwdriver, flat blade, thin.
Press the retaining clips on the two wires(yellow & red)
Remove them, swap them over (bending the clips back out if need be)
Job done.
£12 for a harness, for that.! lmao

Sounds like a blown fuse, check fuses for;

1, Batt Supply - Constant 12v feed...
2, Ign Supply - Switched 12v feed...

If Ign supply fuse is gone, then no other circuit will be affected....
If Batt supply fuse is gone, then other circuits will be affected....
