Well my panasonic headunit doesn't like bumps anymore when playing CD's, not sure if it's due to the harsher ride of the MX5 going over bumps or what but it's now rather dull anyway so good excuse for an upgradeI already have a standard ISO connection in the MX5 after i removed the even duller headunit that came with the car so swapping unit's is no problem.
The main thing i'm after is a headunit that can easily connect to my ipod touch, and play video's from the ipod on the headunit monitor. I have a 16gb ipod touch i barely use and i like the idea of filling it with films/videos, connecting it to the headunit, and being able to watch stuff on it. Also it has to have a removable fascia as occasionally i have to park in a... less than desirable area...
All i can find from google are alpine/kenwood units that cost as much as a small country, or cheap nasty chinese ebay jobs that i'm not convinced will do what they're advertised to or work properly in the first place.
Single or double din, as long as it fits in a MK1 MX5 it'll suit me
Things i've been looking at are:

Nice, but no monitor/video playback. Bought a mate a unit very similar to that which also had bluetooth/USB/SD/1gb built in flash and it was pretty awesome tbh, especially considering how cheap it was on ebay.

Claims to do everything, seems to good to be true. Just like the guy on the astra forums who was selling new xbox games for £12 each, i avoided that dodgy seller and saved myself a few quid :baseballbat:

Again looks quite good, but i'm not convinced...
So, any recommendations? Should i go with generic ebay job or just forget the ipod video playback and rely on burning divx stuff on to DVD discs when i want to take something in the car with me? PS i'm a cheap bastard so the cheaper the better. Less then £250 total though is the budget
