    Thumbs up alpine stereo vectra steering wheel controls question

    i have a alpine 9886r and i wish to use my steering wheel controls to control it, i have a 2000 vectra does anyone know what i need to buy to make it work and does anyone know how to stop the date turning off on the cars info display every time i turn the stereo on.

    To get the steering wheel controls working again you can use a autoleads adaptor and alpine patch lead. Connects2 and celsus also do these adaptors

    For the on the dsiplay you need to cut a wire at it so make it think the stereo's always off. I believe it's a red/white wire

    you dont need to cut any wires at all.

    My sony one you need to turn off the travel announcements and the date comes back up.

    I see there is a TA button on that stereo, try pressing it a few times to see if it comes back on

    I have the full adapter for the steering wheel control and MID display that im not using anymore, proper Alpine unit no cutting of wires required.
    Give me a shout if you want it.

    Only when your noy listening to the radio though and only a feature of Sony headunits as far as I know
