OK boredom has got to me yet again

i have a set of rubbish old nova dash speakers and some 4" pioneer speakers also a crappie head unit

right im going to build a little inclosure to mount it all in my bedroom for a laugh

i have wood nails etc but im wondering if i can use a trickle charger on a car battery while its on powering the head unit or would it blow a fuse

also how long do you think a fully charged battery will last

It depends on how much power you are going to use continuously so the charger should be rated to meet this continuous power rating, or else the strain could kill it, a car charger is probably no more than about 5 amps, so effectively you could only use about 60 watts of RMS power, you would get an awful distortion and possibly a humming sound from the charger if it is a unregulated charger.

But you could make a 12 power supply using a heavy duty 12 Volts transformer rated at about 10Amps (120Watts total RMS) and a 10Amp bridge reactifier and a smoothing capacitor to power all that up.

if it wasn't for the earth , there wouldn't be any universe, mother earth gave birth to all the creation! and without the earths gravitational pull, the sun and the moon would have long gone adrift!

i have a head unit and 600w amp powerd from the 12v supply of my pc. if u open up the pc look 2 see if u have a spare hard disk drive or cd power connecter. theres 2 black wires a yellow and red wire ! the yellow is the 12v live and either of the black 1s are th earth. works well and kiks the amp and head unit way louder than u would need indoors

I did this when i was younger with a CB power pack, think it was only a 3amp constant 5A peak rating, Pretty loud with a set of 6X9's

maybe have a look on Ebay for a cheap one??
Some car chargers will cut off if you connect things to them, mine did anyway with a lamp connected.

cb power supply, Consumer Electronics, Computing, Photography items at low prices on eBay.co.uk

Edit, just looked at the date :L probably got something sorted now
