Zafira A remote central locking

hi all i have bought a 99 plate zaffy i have two keys which both start the car but i installed new batteries and neither of them will control the central locking.. how do i program the remote for the car i have tried the vectra way by putting in ignition turning ignition lights on and pressing lock but this did not work on the zaffy any help would be much appreciated cheers

To reset, turn ignition key until lights on dash come on and hold down the lock button on the key, doors should lock then open, keys should then be resynced to car.

If that fails, will need to have the keys reprogrammed.
