| Pioneer Avic X1BT Help Needed Hi, I removed the Pioneer AVIC from my Astra last year, It has been in storage in my garage, Nice and dry etc.
I fitted it into my Vectra today but it did not power up,
The Red Security Light flashed on and off when the facia was removed but the unit would not switch on,
Could there be a reset button or some strange wiring that I have forgotton about in all the time it was since I last fitted it, Or does the unit have to be fully installed in its case before it will work so as not to cause damage to the screen when it slides out, I just tried it while resting it on the drivers seat.
Many Thanks for any help or suggestions offered,
Kind Regards Bren |

| Re: Pioneer Avic X1BT Help Needed btw the security light illuminating means there is a a voltage of some sort down the permanent live wire (yellow) but not at the red; if its not switching on.. so check the red wire supply. Its the red wire that switches the units on. |

| Re: Pioneer Avic X1BT Help Needed Hi. Thanks for the help. The u it now switches on and works after
connecting the brain module.
But I now have one
more problem. I cannot get the unit to fully power off. There is a fan inside the
unit that keeps spinning even when the car is locked and left. I used a autoleads connection lead to connect the unit to my veccy. I also got the steeri
by wheel adapter. But it seems the only way to connect the stereo is by using the yellow wire from the loom connected to both the red
and yellow from the stereo. The red wire from the loom just goes to the steering wheel adaptor.
I am not sure if the yellow is a permanent live but it looks like it is.
Yet so does the red.
How should it be connected
properly?
thanks.

| Re: Pioneer Avic X1BT Help Needed you need to have a ignition live for that so it turns off automatically.
you might have a extended power supply that youve simply overlooked. |

| Re: Pioneer Avic X1BT Help Needed Get an FM transmitter for your i-phone. They are about 25 quid from Carphone warehouse. You just tune your radio in to the frequency of the transmitter and you can listen to everything on your i-phone. Quality is fine too |

| Re: Pioneer Avic X1BT Help Needed I got the unit fully working, Autoleads sent me a revised loom that works perfect.
I also heard reports of slow movements on the ipod connection unit so I decided not to buy it and used an RCA to jack into the AUX Input and just select songs from my iphone rather than the tough screen pioneer.
Thanks for the help and ideas.
