Morning,
I've just fitted a JVC KWAVX-810 head unit and whenever I play DVDs, it just says "Parking Brake" and the video doesn't play. Audio plays fine... I looked it up in the manual, and apparently, there's a parking brake wire that needs to be connected, so that when your handbrake is not engaged, you can't watch the video of a DVD.
Is there any way I can get around this? What I wanted it for, was so that I've got all the features I want and can use while driving, plus for those long and boring motorway trips, my passengers have something to do... As I'm driving, I'm not planning on watching it.
Is there something else I can wire the parking brake to, safely, that will make it think the handbrake is permanently engaged?
Cheers,
Mike.
