CDR 500 muted - how can i unmute ?

Hi, I have a 2000 Zafira with a fitted Nokia car kit. Stereo has been working fine but lately it displays MESSAGE on the display and there is no sound.

I dont use the phone kit at all, its surplus to requirements. Ive eneve tried fitting an after market stereo into ( only using the speaker connector and the block with the +,-, ground, etc eliminating the top block connector). This still presents a muted stereo.

What can I do to unmute the stereo ? can i disconnect certain pins in the block or would i need to remove any added 'wiring connectors/looms' ...

Should the current stereo loom ( which I assume was addedd due to the phone kit) be detached to show the original ISO connectors ( I.e is it an add-on which if i follow back will show a connector which i can disconnect ? and then plug the original block back into the stereo ???? )

ANY ADVICE would be appreciated ...

Sounds like a fuse has blown and the car kit is muting the radio.

Remove the glovebox, find car kit wiring and trace to a fuse.

If this fuse is blown, replacing it should sort the problem, or just disconnect it all
