Re: subs not preforming/cutting out

push the cone in to see if there is any play in the sub (there should be)
if there is no play the coil is dead thus the speaker has had it.

otherwise its the amp at fault in my opinion

try it on a mates sub if u can ans see what happens.

Sorry mate, this is a little vague, can't offer any advice without more info;

Need to know...

1, Amp make & model...
2, Sub/Subs make, model, coil configuration...
3, Final impedance the amps running into...
4, How were the amp gains set...

A, Does amp trip into protection???
B, Does the subs cut out, but amp doesn't trip out???
C, Have you ADDED a new Battery to Chassis earth to match the new power cable???
D, Is the main fuse an AGU type, (Glass Cylinder Type), have you replaced it if so???
E, Does it cut out at or above a certain volume??? Or after a certain period of time???

To Check....

1, Voltage at amp terminals when it cuts out....
2, Voltage at battery terminals when it cuts out....
3, Check all connections....
4, Visit local Kwik Fit or similar for free Batt & Alt check....
5, Try not using it for a few miles, this will allow the alt to charge the batt a little, then try it and see if it cuts out the same or plays a little longer/louder, this will indicate if its simply a discharged battery.....
