Remote Central Locking issue Corsa C

Went and had a look at a mate of mines Corsa last night.

When you unlock the car the drivers side pin lifts, then goes back down, then lifts then goes back down....all really fast. So basically it just pulses for a bit and then locks itself again.

I took off both door cards and checked the plugs that go to the motors. The drivers side one had a white residue on two pins...at one point after cleaning them up everything seemed to be working except the door pin only twitched and didnt actually go up or down. I managed to get around that but then it went back to pulsing lol.

I disconnected the passenger side motor and the issue stayed. I did the same with the boot motor and confirmed that the issue stayed with that disconnected also.

So, is it likely that the drivers side motor is knackered?

If you use the key in the drivers door rather than the remote does the problem still happen?

No.

Just as well really, otherwise they wouldn't be able to get into the car!!

But using the key in the drivers door only opens the drivers door. Is that normal?

Its a 3dr btw

Cheers Bazza,

Thats the method for resyncing the fob to the car isn't it? I read about it the other day and will be trying it when I get a chance.

just some gen about unlocking the drivers side door mate....if you use the key in the lock and turn it once to the left (i think) it opens the drivers door. Then re-turn the key to the left and it opens all the doors, boot included. happy days

Turning the key to unlock in the drivers door should open just then one, usually turning it to unlock again will do the rest of the doors

So do you think its likely to be a knackered motor?
