Hmm Radio display question easy one for someone i hope

Ok i had a spare CAR 400 radio in my garage and have just bought a W reg corsa diesel for work without a stereo in.

So i decided to fit the CAR400 from a R reg vectra into the corsa fitted it in and turned it on and display showed SAFE instead of date did the usual and entered code by holding AS button turn on radion and all be hold sound came through the speakers, GREAT or so i thought....

Now the radio is plying great but the display in the center of the dash dont display the channel or the date now, its blank when radio is playing music and also its blank when its turned off, it did show date without the CAR 400 connected...

Any idea's should it work ok, or is there a wiring problem or are they just not compatible maybe....

    thanks

You can set these for either 8 or 10 digit displays. If it's set to the wrong one it'll be blank.

With the ignition on and the radio off, hold down buttons 4 + 6 and switch it on, holding 4 + 6 until you get a beep and it displays what you have in the car, then press AS. (That's roughly the procedure anyway, it's been a while since I last had to do it!)

    If 4 + 6 don't work try 3 + 5, it's one of them.
